TOUR TO THE ZAGORA DESERT IN 5 DAYS FROM MARRAKECH

First Day : Arrival on the first day Greetings from Marrakech! Your trip will begin when you are greeted by our courteous driver, who will guide you .

Day 2 : Breakfast is followed by a half-day sightseeing tour of The Red City. We drive through the Medina with an English-speaking guide to see the marketplaces (olives, leather, spices, etc. ), the famed Jamaa El Fna plaza, palaces, and monuments (Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace). After that, we’ll return to the hotel for dinner, and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy.

Day 3 : We proceed to Ouarzazate after breakfast, passing across the Tizi’n Tichka Pass and taking in the magnificent vistas of the High Atlas Mountains. After arriving in Ouarzazate, take a guided tour of the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987) before having some free time to eat lunch. You can also go to the Cinema Museum and the movie studios if you want. The drive to Zagora takes us through a stunning oasis, palm grove, and Berber village. At Zagora, we exchange cars for camels and journey for 1 hour and 30 minutes into the Zagora desert, where we can watch the sunset. Then it’s time for a traditional Moroccan meal while listening to Berber drums and chants. After singing and dancing around the campfire, we spend the night in the desert camp’s nomadic tents under the stars.

Day 4 : A fresh day begins with an early morning wake-up call to watch the sunrise from atop the dunes. We return to Zagora by camel after a traditional Berber breakfast served in the tent. We make regular comfort stops on our way to Marrakech. You will have time to stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the road. When you arrive in Marrakech, our driver will take you to your accommodation.

Day 5 : Following breakfast. You have the rest of the day to yourself until you are transferred to the airport for your last departure.

Amazing experience! I’ll repeat this all over again. We booked the 2 days 1 night tour to Zagora. Our driver, Laarbi, was great! He was very kind and helpful. The minivan was excellent; the camp in the desert was awesome! The guide guy at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou was nice as well. The berber people in the camp were really nice, and the food (dinner and breakfast) was perfect. Enjoy de camel ride at sunset and sunrise. Get ready some cash to tip everyone. It was all worth it! I recommend it!!!

Me and my boyfriend went to marrakesh for 6 days. It was our first time in Africa and we really wanted to visit the dessert. I think this is one of the best trips to do if you’re only staying in Marocco for a short period of time. All by all an amazing trip only downside could be the amount of time traveling by bus to get there. Luckily we had an amazing bus driver, Aziz. He was really friendly and helped us whenever needed. He also gave us access to his wifi hotspot. Which is a plus when you have to travel this much. Thank you Aziz!

We went on the trip with Lahcen and had a great time. We had the chance to visit Ati Ben Hadoo and had a great guide. The places that we were taken to for meals and rest stops were on the expensive side, but they were clean and nice so definitely well worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants and desert adventure!

We had a very Tour to the desert! One of the main reasons was our driver, he was super relaxed and drove save and carefully. If we needed something he was helpful all the time! So if you consider to go on a tour definetley ask for Lahcen as a driver!
The camp was very clean and the food was good.
If you really want to go deep in to the desert it is better to do the 3 days trip. But the location is stunning anyway!

Nice experience, 100% recomended. Value for money. Only issue is the long journey from Marakech-Zagora,almost 8hours, however we had a few breaks to strech our legs.

We booked online and had a great trip. Moha our driver picked us up from just outside our riad and along with a group of about 20 we started the trip.

We made a few comfort breaks along the drive there, as well as lunch in Ait Benhaddou which has great views around. Moha the driver was really good and we made it through the mountain roads in the large minibus which was fairly new and has A/C, very comfortable.

The camel trip was good fun and although you start at a roadside, you end up in a camp near a dune. The camp has running hot water and flushing toilets and showers, and we had a large tent to ourselves with a proper bed with sheets and blankets, it was pretty warm. You have mint tea on arrival and then sit down to a 3 course dinner before the local guides start a fire and play some Berber music to end the night.

Breakfast was a mix of bread, pancakes, boiled eggs and croissants, with tea and coffee. We watched the sun rise, then headed back on the camels a shorter route back to the van and the return trip to Marrakech.

All in, a very fun trip with a good group of people. Everyone spoke good English and French and we were surprised at how good the camp was after reading some desert trip reviews online.

Be prepared with some cash for some tips for the guides and lunch stops along the way and water, which they also sell at the camp.

It was a very nice trip on Sahara desert.

The driver, Hicham Damou, was on time to pick up us from our hotel. He spoke english perfectly and he drove safely. He also explained us too many things about Morocco.

Everything was perfect in the camp: the guides, the food, the show… It’s important to wear winter clothes becaouse the night in the tent is freezing.

The sunset and the sunrise were amazing!
