Agadir Quad Biking 2026 – Desert ATV Tour with Berber Breakfast | From €40

Original price was: 50 €.Current price is: 40 €.

The desert starts closer than you think. Twenty minutes south of Agadir’s beach, the asphalt ends, the landscape opens up, and you’re staring at sand dunes, dry riverbeds, and rocky Anti-Atlas terrain that stretches to the horizon. Our Agadir quad biking tour puts you on a 4-wheel ATV quad bike and lets you loose across all of it — with an experienced guide keeping pace ahead and 2 full hours to cover ground that most tourists in Agadir never see.

This is the most consistently booked adrenaline activity we offer. Guests who have ridden quad bikes elsewhere in Morocco and Europe regularly say the Agadir terrain is their favourite — the mix of open sandy desert, farmland, argan forest, and Berber village tracks creates a constantly changing landscape that keeps the ride interesting from start to finish. And when you get back — dusty, buzzing, and grinning — there’s a traditional Moroccan breakfast of mint tea, amlou (Moroccan nut butter), honey, and fresh bread waiting for you.

Looking for something equally exhilarating but more relaxed? Our buggy biking tour covers the same terrain in a 2-seat off-road buggy — ideal for couples or those who prefer a steering wheel. Both tours run from the same location. Browse all our Agadir activities or book your quad biking adventure below.

📅 Availability

Available every day, year-round. Two departure times are available — choose the morning slot for cooler conditions or the afternoon for a more relaxed pace. Book online to guarantee your preferred time, especially in summer when the morning slot fills quickly.

🕒 Starting times

  • 8:30 AM — morning departure; cooler temperatures, ideal for summer visits
  • 2:00 PM — afternoon departure; more relaxed start to the day

In June, July, and August, we strongly recommend the morning slot. The desert can reach 35°C by early afternoon and riding in that heat significantly reduces enjoyment. Your pick-up time matches your selected slot.

🗺️ Itinerary — what happens during your quad biking tour

Hotel pick-up
Your driver arrives at your hotel at the selected time and transports you approximately 20 minutes south of Agadir toward the Anti-Atlas foothills. As the city recedes behind you, the landscape becomes drier and more dramatic — the beginning of the transformation that makes this tour feel like a completely different Morocco from the beach resort you woke up in.

Arrival at starting point — safety briefing
On arrival you meet your guide and are fitted with your helmet, goggles, and jacket. Your guide gives a thorough briefing covering how to operate the quad (throttle, braking, handling on different surfaces) and the safety rules for the ride. This typically takes 15–20 minutes. First-time riders are given additional guidance and the pace is adjusted for the group’s comfort level throughout.

The quad biking route — 2 hours
The guide leads the group out into the terrain. The route is not fixed — it responds to conditions and the group’s confidence — but it typically covers open sand dunes, the rocky dry riverbeds of the Anti-Atlas foothills, farmland tracks through argan and fig trees, and a section through the outskirts of the Tamraght Berber village. Along the way, the guide stops at viewpoints, manages the pace, and ensures everyone in the group is together.

Stop at Tamraght Berber village
Tamraght is an ancient Berber community that has maintained its traditional way of life and architecture for centuries. The guide points out the village’s features and provides context on Berber culture, architecture, and the history of the Souss-Massa region. This is a brief but genuinely interesting stop.

Berber breakfast — mint tea, amlou and fresh bread
Back at the starting point, a traditional Berber breakfast is laid out: freshly made mint tea, amlou (a thick, sweet paste of argan oil, almonds, and honey — a Moroccan speciality found almost nowhere outside this region), more honey for dipping, and freshly baked bread. This is not a token snack — it’s a proper sit-down experience that gives everyone time to decompress, share stories from the ride, and appreciate what they’ve just done.

Return to your hotel
Your driver returns you to your hotel, where you’ll find yourself considerably dustier and considerably happier than you were a few hours earlier.

🎒 What to bring

  • Comfortable, close-fitting clothing you don’t mind getting dusty; avoid loose scarves or sleeves that could catch on the quad
  • Closed-toe shoes — essential. Trainers or hiking shoes. Open sandals are not permitted for safety reasons
  • A water bottle — desert air is very dry; hydration is important even when it doesn’t feel hot
  • Sunglasses (worn under the goggles or instead of them if the goggle fit is not comfortable)
  • Sunscreen applied before pick-up — the desert sun is intense at any time of year
  • A small bag or backpack for your water bottle, phone, and any personal items

Quad biking vs buggy biking — which should you choose?

Both tours cover the same terrain from the same location. Here’s the honest difference:

Quad bikes are individual ATVs with handlebars — you steer with your body weight as much as with your hands, and they require active physical engagement. They’re slightly more technically demanding, slightly more intense, and give you a greater sense of independence. Most solo travellers and those with previous off-road experience prefer quads.

Buggies are 2-seat side-by-side off-road vehicles with a steering wheel, roll cage, and harness. They’re more stable, require less physical effort, and seat two people together — making them ideal for couples who want to ride together, or for anyone who found the idea of a solo quad slightly nerve-wracking. Our Agadir buggy tour runs for 5 hours and includes the same Berber breakfast stop.

If you genuinely can’t choose, contact us — groups can be split between quads and buggies at the same session.

Frequently asked questions — Agadir quad biking

Do I need experience to go quad biking in Agadir?

No prior experience is needed. Your guide provides a full safety briefing and riding instructions before departure, covering throttle control, braking, and how to handle the quad on different surfaces. The pace is adjusted for each group’s ability. The majority of our guests have never ridden a quad bike before and manage perfectly on their first attempt.

How long does the Agadir quad biking tour last?

The quad biking itself lasts 2 hours. Including the safety briefing, the Berber breakfast break, and transport to and from your hotel, the total experience takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours from pick-up to drop-off.

What is the minimum age for quad biking in Agadir?

The minimum age to ride a quad bike solo is 13 years. Children aged 6 to 12 can participate as a passenger seated with an adult guide on a larger quad. Children under 6 cannot participate in the quad biking activity. Please specify the ages in your group when booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.

What should I wear for quad biking in Agadir?

Wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing that you don’t mind getting dusty — the desert terrain kicks up considerable sand and grit. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; open sandals are not permitted. Helmets, goggles, and jackets are all provided. Apply sunscreen before pick-up. Avoid loose scarves, open clothing, or anything that could catch in the quad’s moving parts.

Is quad biking in Agadir safe?

Yes — our quad biking tour operates with full safety equipment (helmet, goggles, jacket), a pre-ride briefing, and an experienced guide riding with the group at all times. Our quads are well-maintained and regularly serviced. We have been running this tour safely since 2011. Participants are asked to follow the guide’s instructions throughout and not to exceed safe speeds for the terrain.

What is amlou — and why is it in the breakfast?

Amlou is a traditional Moroccan condiment made from roasted almonds, argan oil, and honey — specific to the Souss-Massa region where Agadir is located. It has a consistency similar to peanut butter but a richer, nuttier flavour, and is eaten by dipping fresh bread into it. It is genuinely delicious and something most visitors have never tasted before the tour. The argan oil in amlou is the same cold-pressed oil sold worldwide as a beauty product — here, it’s eaten.

Can I book a private quad biking tour in Agadir?

Yes — private quad biking tours are available for individuals, couples, families, and groups who want an exclusive vehicle and guide. A private tour gives you complete flexibility on pace, route, and timing. Contact us at Bookings@ecolodge-adventures.com with your group size and preferred date to arrange a private session.

We loved this trip. You had a good amount of time on the bikes and got to see a lot of the country side. The hospitality was excellent and it was great to share a mint tea and traditional bread served by a local lady. Would highly recommend this trip

In the morning the weather was a bit cold, but later on the weather was ok. Just incase bring some jacket with you and some water to drink on the road. All and all, everything was good. I really enjoyed riding the quad, also it was my first time. The instructors and the bus driver were very friendly and patience. After riding the quad, we had a little lunch from the company. It was really sweet of them, because we could rest for a bit, before heading back to the hotel.

Great experience only thing that let it down for me was that my helmet was too big so I had to keep adjusting it and my hair net kept fell over my eyes at one point I couldn’t see anything I pulled in at one of the check points and the guy sorted me and took me back to the group was really helpful but other than that it was great
