From the largest square in Africa to the mountainous dunes of Merzouga, you can marvel at and experience the natural wonders of the Atlas Mountains, Gorges and ancient Kasbahs,
Departing early from Marrakech you will descend South and right through the length of the Atlas Mountains at a height of 2260m on the winding Tishka Pass. The views are breathtaking – not only in terms of the physical natural beauty, but you will also see the Berber villages of the Atlas, and the traditional houses and daily lives of the Berber people.
Your first stop is the ancient Kasbah Ait Benhaddou bridging the mountains with the Sahara, before moving on to Ouarzazate – the gateway to the Sahara – where you will stop for lunch. From here, you will make your way to your first night’s stop in Dades Gorges where you can relax in the tranquility of the nature that surrounds you.
Onwards to another Gorge – this time the mighty Todra – where you will spend some time, before heading down to the Sahara that you may only have seen in films. Erg Chebbi are the giant sand dunes that surround the town of Merzouga – a Berber town where you will spend your second night. You will take the traditional method of transport – camel – to the Berber camp in time for sunset, and enjoy an evening of Berber hospitality under the stars of the Sahara.
After breakfast you will take another camel trek for sunrise before making your journey up North and once again through the Atlas mountains – arriving in the bright lights of Marrakech in the evening.
