When it comes to choosing ski holidays there are certainly a great many destinations to look at, but how do you make sure you pick the best one for you? Well nowadays it’s probably wise to read any online reviews that have been posted by previous visitors to your chosen region. You’ll get a good idea of what is on offer and the standard of service they were provided with. This way you are less likely to make a mistake.
So, which country do you go for? Do you pick France with its large number of high class resorts such as Coucheval; popular with many famous people and well known for its luxury chalets, or one of the other resorts in the three valleys; Meribel or Thorens? All offer something slightly different but all are linked by the ski lifts to provide skiing for any level of experience. As well as skiing you can also take part in activities such as ice climbing, ice karting or snow shoeing.
Austria on the other hand has its own share of high class ski resorts to choose from. You could visit St Anton, home of the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2001 and known as the ski capital of Austria. Nestled in the bottom of the valley with its car-free village centre, it’s particularly suitable for competent skiers and those who enjoy a good party atmosphere. Or how about Lech with its selection of alternative activities to choose from such as curling, ice skating or sleigh rides when the skiing gets too much?
Switzerland has many resorts to choose from such as Davos, Verbier or Klosters; a small alpine village famous for its visits by Prince Charles and other members of the Royal Family. It has many luxury chalets where you can experience the very best of what Switzerland has to offer making it an ideal choice for a holiday to remember.
